Yoga for Mind Body Well- Being
Integrative Yoga Therapeutics (IYT) helps us to learn about and ultimately guide the interplay between mind and body and to access the Mind – Body Network as a vehicle for healing. An integration of yoga, psychology and science, IYT offers therapeutic tools to change the physical, mental, emotional and energetic manifestations of imbalance and illness.
Understanding that we have the ability to change on all levels of our mind body network is inspiring. Developing awareness is key to change - awareness can help us recognise negative patterns that lead to injury, illness, anxiety, depression and low self esteem. In every class we practice ways to tune in to the very subtle messages that the mind-body network gives us and use simple therapeutic interventions or tools to help the healing of the whole mind-body network.
This approach seems to me both simple and logical. It is accessible to anyone, doesn’t require much previous yoga experience, and it need not take hours of practice. In my opinion change is a continual work in progress - practice on the mat for life off the mat! The best bit—it’s empowering!
Each of my general classes combine Mindful Vinyasa, Therapeutic Yoga and Restorative Yoga. I also teach separate Restorative Yoga classes. In keeping with my passion to make Yoga accessible and effective for everyone, every class I teach is suitable for complete beginners to the more experienced practitioner.
Mindful Movement marries yoga's contemplative elements with asana to create a therapeutic and transformative vinyasa practice. Each class integrates the subtle yet powerful interventions of breath work to calm the mind and nervous system, postural alignment for mood stabilisation, and creative use of props and sequencing to develop space in body and mind.
Therapeutic Yoga takes yoga's most therapeutic elements and weaves it into our practice to enhance its healing impact. Almost all forms of yoga help us feel better physically and emotionally, and in many other ways. Yet we can also make yoga more therapeutic by using tools - yogic interventions - that speak to as many elements of the Mind-Body Network as possible. In this way, we take our yoga practice beyond the physical. We make it integrative and therapeutic and thus, even more healing.
Restorative Yoga involves carefully sequenced, artfully propped restorative yoga postures designed to balance the nervous system and promote emotional well- being. These therapeutic postures deepen the relaxation response, reduce anxiety and stress, alleviate depression, improve digestion and enhance immunity. In a restorative yoga class you learn key postures in this system, basic breath work techniques, fascial release and guided meditation to help awaken the innate wisdom and healing capacity of your mind- body network.

Our fast paced modern day lifestyles, working environment and new technology are here to stay but how does this impact our health, work performance, creativity, relationships and sense of well being? Is there something we can do to balance this?
In these workshops and events we will investigate what changes are happening in our body in order to adapt to our modern life and how this has more than a physical impact. These events help promote overall general health and well being and encourage feelings of empowerment, increased confidence and can- do attitude to help improve performance and creativity.
